Has anyone thought about adding some kind of MQTT support to Synchronet? Maybe echicken? :)

My thinking was for interfacing with meshtastic, so maybe just email or interbbs messaging. Regular messages might often be too big. I suppose email would be, too, with quoting and such.

While I have no idea about Sync, or its development, I would also support this... I'm a Meshtastic user, and I use MQTT for other smart home projects - LOL, imagine a BBS where a light flashes when a user wants to chat. :P I'm all for new technologies in this community - but many disagree.

Holy heck. I guess I do remember reading that in the changelogs - that is so cool, DM... I really wish I would have stuck with Sync and just customized it so much that it looked like my own.

After learning more about Sync, I realize that even the [small] things I didn't like were likely able to customize out. [Simply like the 'this is a Synchronet BBS' login stuff...]

Thank you for continuing to develop the most advanced BBS software there ever was.

    Hello,

I've setup MQTT on Linux and was wondering if there was any documentation on how to set this up? I can't seem to get it to work.

    Thanks!!

A few of us spent a lot of time adding to the Wiki for MQTT. Gamgee posted elsewhere the links, but there's also a rought outline of how to use SSL on my personal page on the synchronet wiki, just search for mqtt (which would have given you what you need in the first place) and you'll find how to do it if you desire to do so.

I missed the wiki documentation, I didnt realize it had a search function. I found your page on MQTT which was very helpful. I was trying to tackle SSL
for the website and SSL for MQTT at the same time. I have BBS nowrunning behind nginx reverse proxy with SSL on a AWS EC2 Linux instance. I
built it with terraform and ansible so I wouldt loose my build instructions. Now its time to tackle MQTT again.
    Thanks!
